3. Environmental Protection & Trail Etiquette (“Leave No Trace”)
- 3.1 Santubong National Park is a sensitive, legally protected conservation area. Littering is strictly prohibited. Any runner caught dropping trash (including gel wrappers, bottles, or tape) along the trail will face immediate disqualification.

4. Safety, Mandatory Gear & Medical Authority
- 4.1 Participants must carry all required mandatory equipment for their registered distance throughout the entire race. Spot checks will be conducted prior to start-line entry and at designated checkpoints. Failure to present mandatory items will result in time penalties or denial of entry.
- 4.2 Event marshals, safety personnel, and medical crew have absolute authority to pull any participant from the course if deemed physically unfit, dehydrated, or unable to continue safely.
5. Air Quality, Haze & Extreme Environmental Conditions
- 5.1 The organiser actively monitors official Air Pollutant Index (API) levels reported by the Department of Environment (DOE).
- 5.2 If hazardous API levels persist leading up to the event, a final announcement regarding whether the race will proceed, be modified, postponed, or cancelled will be released four (4) days prior to event day (by 11 November 2026).
- 5.3 In the event of race postponement or cancellation due to unsafe haze levels, natural disasters, severe weather, or government safety mandates, registration fees are strictly non-refundable.
6. Weather & General Force Majeure
- 6.1 The event will proceed under light to moderate rainfall.
- 6.2 In the case of severe weather posing safety risks (for example localised lightning, extreme torrential rain, or flash flooding on technical trail sections), the organiser reserves the right to delay start times, modify or shorten routes, or stop the race in progress. Fees remain non-refundable.
7. Media, Photo & Personal Data Release
By participating, runners grant the organiser full permission to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other media record of the event for legitimate promotional purposes across print, digital, and social platforms.

Acknowledgment of Risks
I fully understand that participating in the Santubong International Nature Trail Run 2026 involves inherent and significant risks, including:

- Physical and medical exertion: dehydration, heatstroke, fatigue, heart attacks, muscle injuries, falls, collisions, and other physical traumas.
- Remoteness: trail locations where emergency medical access, evacuation, and communications may be delayed.
I voluntarily assume all risks, known and unknown, associated with my participation in this Event, even if arising from the negligence of the Releasees or others.
Waiver and Release of Liability
I, for myself, my personal representatives, heirs, next of kin, and assigns, hereby forever release, waive, and discharge:

Indemnification, Medical Consent & Organiser Authority
- I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Releasees from liabilities, losses, damages, or costs they may incur as a result of my participation, my breach of Event rules, or claims brought by third parties as a result of my actions.
- I certify that I am physically fit, sufficiently trained, and medically capable of participating. I authorise the Organiser and its medical crew to render first aid, emergency medical treatment, or arrange transport to a medical facility. All medical, hospitalisation, and emergency evacuation costs are solely my responsibility.
